Being a member of the Buffalo, NY SKYWARN and Toronto
CANWARN as well as a storm spotter (yes we get storms here too) I found it
imperative to be able to be identified out in the field.
Please do not purchase these signs unless you have attended a
SKYWARN session within the last three years, are a regular member or are buying
these as a gift for someone who has. In addition to this, All of us consider
ourselves professionals in many ways because of the study and expense we go
through to learn about and experience severe weather. We should always keep in
mind that it is a great privilege to be part of the Weather Service team even
though we do not get paid for it. When displaying these emblems on our vehicles
always keep in mind that we represent these organizations in the public eye and
we should never do anything to undermine or hinder any program designed to
protect life and property.
